Gemma will be producing ‘The Foundation Series‘, a collection of posts designed to educate our readers on skin preparation, skin care and the art of creating the perfect base for a dewy, radiant face.

As Christian Doir famously quipped, ‘without the proper foundation, there can be no fashion‘.

And with that ethos in mind, we are dedicated to bringing you the very best in expert advice surrounding the foundations of fashion and beauty.

Gemma Watts has been a part of Australia’s media landscape since early 2012, working as a journalist, photographer and MC across the fashion and beauty spheres.

Gemma’s most recent speaking engagements have seen her hosting the month-long Melbourne leg of MYER’s ‘Find Your Feeling’ beauty event series and presenting as key note speaker at Facebook’s 2018 Beauty Summit.

Past work has included event and workshop hosting for Nude by Nature, Chemist Warehouse, Brazilian Butterfly and Northland Shopping Centre.

Since launching her full-time freelance business at the end of 2016, Gemma has created written and photographic content for companies including MYER, Estée Lauder, L’Oréal Paris, Simone Perele, Paula’s Choice Skincare, La Roche Posay, Tom Ford and Bobbi Brown, as well as regularly contributing beauty articles to several print and digital publications. Gemma specialises in editorial and copy writing, photography and social media management, currently working with her roster of ongoing clients across all of these elements as well as taking on special project work where possible.

Gemma held her previous role as Fashion Editor at Couturing.com for close to 5 years, spending 2 of those years working simultaneously as a contributing Beauty Writer and eventually Editor for L’Oréal Paris Australia’s advertorial website.

2018 has seen Gemma rebrand and relaunch her website, Glow Journal. Previously a personal beauty blog, Glow Journal has retained Gemma’s original readership while taking a more objective, editorial approach to beauty and includes reviews, op-eds and photographic editorials, allowing Gemma to work creatively alongside local photographers, models and makeup artists.
