As many of us may have learnt the hard way, having an abundance of clothes will not necessarily give you endless outfit options, nor will it make getting ready for the day a faster process.

How many times do you stare at your wardrobe packed full of out-of-season jackets, high-street tops and pants that may or may not fit depending on the time of year, and think “I have NOTHING to wear!”

How do the stylish few do it, we ask ourselves. Do they have an endless supply of designer threads?

But what they also have is a tight rotation of high quality, perfectly fitting, on-trend whilst still being classic pieces that always look sharp.

So what are these Spring gems we can replace all our chunky knits, over-sized coats and boots with?

Read on for our edit of quality, wardrobe staples that will work just in time for the change of season.

And for help getting rid of those Winter purchases to make room for our new Spring essentials, read our  ‘How To De-Clutter Your Wardrobe‘ blog post here

1. A White Button Down Shirt

The classic white shirt will elevate your personal style and is incredibly versatile.

It can be worn to the office buttoned up and tucked into a cigarette trouser, or worn out over a leather trouser.

For a relaxed, weekend vibe, try tucking into a pair of high-waist jeans, while leaving a few buttons undone down the front, to show off a lacey bralette or bodysuit, as shown here.

Racing from the office to drinks or dinner? Embrace the cold shoulder trend, and undo the first few buttons, slipping the shirt off the shoulders, and then knot the excess fabric at the waist.

2. High Waist Jeans

We couldn’t compile a list of wardrobe staples without including a pair of well-fitting jeans.

A high-waist is always flattering, and gives you versatility.

Channel the effortless style of the French by slightly tucking in a shirt, tee or even jumper at the waist, while leaving it untucked at the back. Depending on your shape and build, you can opt for different cuts, be it a Mom jean, straight-leg, wide-leg, or skinny-leg.

Black jeans are always an essential, but now that we’re approaching warmer weather, why not try a denim wash?

3. A Strapless Bra

Up there with buying bathers and jeans, shopping for a strapless bra has a pretty bad reputation, and for many of us, it is a task we’d rather put off as long as possible.

However, with warm weather approaching, it’s time we embrace the need for a strapless bra. While the thought of wearing one for longer than an hour fills many of us with dread, we believe strapless bras have been given an unfair reputation.

The trick is to find a style that suits your bust, in your correct size. For many women, this will often mean going down a size in the band, and up a size in the cup. This is to ensure the underwire sits behind and around the breast tissue, and that the band provides enough support.

Find your nearest Simone Pérèle store here, and ask one of our specialist lingerie fitters for some advice on purchasing your next strapless.

4. A Classic Black Blazer

No longer is the blazer office-only attire – pair with a white tee and denim jeans to lunch on a Sunday, or pair with a dress and boots for drinks with your girlfriends on Friday night.

Try buying a size up if you like the oversized look, so you can wear it off the shoulders, or belted at the waist. The structured fit at the shoulders will highlight a small waist.

5. The White T-Shirt

If you don’t already own one, put this Jac & Jack linen crew neck tee at the top of your Spring wish list.

An essential piece that we’re sure you’ll have on high rotation, it can be paired with jeans – a denim wash in particular, now that we’re heading into warmer weather, for a easy weekend look. You can also tuck into a pair of cigarette trousers or pop it under a blazer for the office.

To take this look from day to night, knot the t-shirt at the waist and wear with a pair of high-waist, wide-leg trousers, or throw a slip dress over the top.

6. Statement Earrings

We all know accessories can make or break an outfit, and the rules are no different when it comes to this season’s jewellery must-have.

This Spring, the focus is on earrings, particularly hoops or statement earrings – think tassels or dropped jewels.

Skip the necklace, and a bright coloured lip, and instead opt for a neutral look, letting the earrings be the statement.

This trend looks sharp paired with hair pulled back into a sleek low-bun, meaning this accessory essential will also save you that fifteen minutes you’d normally spend curling your hair – win!

7. A Midi-Length Wrap Dress

A floral dress is a Spring essential, but for added versatility try a midi-length style this Spring.

The wrap-dress style is really having a moment, and is flattering on all body types.

Pair with heels for the office, boots for the weekend, or even wear open over jeans and a silk camisole.

Versatile and effortlessly chic!
